Hello all, welcome to the national tournament for season 32. Last season's tournament contained many upsets, games being decided in the last few seconds, a division III team reaching the quarter finals and Tide of Fire cruising his way to a first tournament crown.

ROUND ONE SUMMARY
The first round has thrown up 22 matches not featuring a BOT. There is the first EBBL match up in the cup between newly promoted Stinkilemons and London Lemurs. I'm not sure whether this is the first time this has happened, likelihood is it isn't however it gets rid of one of the big boys for us division II teams. There's also a division II match up that will be tight between 31st rank Vector BC and 41st ranked Lusitania Brasil All Stars. I also have a tough task of travelling to 72nd rank Derby County. Another nice looking match up see's 10th seed Triximos Tricks host a strong division III team in JA Miami.

Can a division II or III team advance to the finals? Who will serve up the first and biggest of the tournament? Will anyone new come to the throne or will Vecx dominate again to regain his crown?

Good luck to all teams involved.

I'd love to know who voted for teams outside the EBBL. (I know who one of them is but I'm sworn to secrecy).

Well turns out i've got you in the next round, Gully. Looks like it won't be me flying the flag for d3 this season.

Well at this rate of D1vD1 match-ups, by all-star week we'll be left with 3-4 D1 teams, so anything's possible!

lol JS sounds like a job :P. We all appreciate you for doing the write ups on the cup, but it doesn't have to be so serious! Besides it's also very understandable if you are busy with the U21 when you have time for the game!

ROUND ONE SUMMARY
The first round saw the first EBBL match up of the national tournament and the game did not disappoint as Stinkilemons edged out London Lemurs in a thriller ending 97-95. The division two clash between Vector BC and Lusitania Brasil All Stars saw Vector BC win by a margin of 14 to book his place in the second round whereas Derby County also beat me by a score of 103-83 to go through. Other games that were entertaining and threw up a bit of a surprise were 189th seed, Steelers United, beating a good division II side in Bulviniai Blynai whilst JA Miami knocked out 10th seed, Triximos Tricks.

The second round will see yet another EBBL match up, this time between last seasons champions, Tide of Fire host Bethnal Green Erks. Another EBBL side who has been drawn against a tough opponent is Club Deportivo San Andreas who will travel to II.2 side, Whetstone Wizards. There are also some match ups between division II sides such as Bc Wild Hawks taking on The Admirals, Baro Kiaules going head to head with JR Knights, Bc Giants playing against SuperHands and Kapsukas hosting Wigan Carpenters.

Teams are as follows:
EBBL (15/16)
II.1 (13/16)
II.2 (15/16)
II.3 (16/16)
II.4 (15/16)

Good luck to all teams on Thursday.

I wouldn't say that.
