Doing this will ensure a larger sample of players with the potential to maximize their enjoyment of the game. while not everyone can be at the top of the heap the current system only allows for so much upward mobility especially in a big country and therefore I think it leads to having the same old usual suspects at the top end of the game. While I for one enjoy the true European feel of this game with the ingrained promotion relegation system I know it has to frustrate a lot of players, especially those here in the good old USA.

and here in 'merica what do we do when monopolies have too much power? we break up them up. IE Ma Bell back in the 80's

My modest proposal is this, clear out all the crap in the lower divisions, the way it is there are many more BOT teams then human, and while this is nice in the early rounds of the cup it also leads to mind numbing dull contests. Then reshuffle everyone into THREE divisions, I,II,III keeping the current parameters of income, tickets, etc. For countries well under 336 total members this will not make much of a difference. in those over that number you will break things into zones, this will still mean some bot teams, but not near as many as before. To wit, in the US there are currently 1584, this has been a relatively consistent number not varying too much in range, divided by 336 this was about 4.7 so they would need a minimum of five zones to handle the current load for a total of 1680. perhaps having a 6th or even 7th around to have enough room available for a decent influx of new players. Lets go with 7 in this example. Push players up the ladder, this would mean that instead of 16 teams having the benefits of being on the highest level you would have 112, instead of 64 d2 teams you would get 448.

keep the cup format the same, but tighten up a little bit in terms of numbers of participating teams which I think will help heighten interests because so many more teams will be able to be relatively competitive against each other.

find a way to bring some of these great players of our past who were forced to the sidelines before their time to allow the hands of time to be turned back and to bring some players out of the limbo that is BB retirement, perhaps a 'supplemental' draft.

quicken training so that more players will be ready to shine in the limelight. for that matter produce higher quality prospects.

I think these types of steps will give this game the shot in the arm that we all seem to want to see this game get.

Surely an unconventional proposal. In a sense what you're advocating is actually a clean slate and a new start. That's a way to increase mobility between leagues. What are we going to do with the high salary players nobody will be able to afford because D3 income is too low?

Maybe we could just increase the promotions/demotions like in utopia: in the higher league 4 teams demote instantly and 4 will have a relegation series, so in total 6 teams will demote. In the lower league the 2 guys reaching the finals will go up instantly. Then the best team not to reach the finals will have a shot (at home) against one of the 2 teams winning relegation series in the higher league.

Or maybe we could rise the TV money for lower leagues so that it's closer to D1 and at the same time destroy tanking teams via the Fan Survey (ie. if your team is much worse compared to your league in terms of salary then your gate receipts should be so low that you counterbalance the money you make on the TV contract v Salary Floor). If you do this, there is significantly less difference in playing in D3 v D2 or D2 v D1 because the salary you can afford to pay is closer. It also make it easier for a team to move from a level to the next.

In other words, you'd be breaking each country into mini-countries, or 'zones', so there are more Div I's, II's, and III's out there.

I don't know. I kind of like it how the top Division, especially in larger countries, is so elite. It means that you really had to do a great job managing your team to get there. Sometimes, of course, you do a great job and still don't get there, whether it's because of bad luck injuries or a last minute 3pt barrage by your opponent in the DII Finals, but that's all part of the game.

To me, making it easier to get to the NBBA by adding more NBBA's merely makes getting to the NBBA less arduous and being in the NBBA less noteworthy.

I'd rather see it stay the way it is.

As an idea to combat D4 leagues where there is "less" competition in the US, why not we just reshuffle d3 and d4 leagues once every 2 seasons? My reason for this proposal is because the toughness of D4 leagues has REALLY watered down since the last time I was down here. For example, in my league I'm 10-0 with only a 115k salary team. Back in Season 24 when I won the title, I had to have a 200k+ salaried team in order to win the title (perhaps I was too paranoid about an injury happening to my star player, which was why I bought a basically star studded bench) But anyways in another D4 league one of my students is in, he has to face a team with almost 235k in team salaries (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/56/overview.aspx) (look at Burlington orbitals) in another one a team is 7-3 and 4th place in the great 8. In other leagues there are many many bots which lessens the quality of a league. And again, there are the inactive teams or "dumb" teams which don't know the basics of enthusiasm, tactics, GDP, and GS management (ie, the 12 teams in my league) the only true competitor in my league is Lord of leewrosky....that's it!

I thought I'd have a tougher time getting back to d3. But right ow it's looking like a cake walk (I got 1.3M in the bank waiting for the perfect guard to come on th e market)

Which is why I suggest league reshuffling, at least in the lower leagues. The benefits would be 1) more active leagues, where it is competitive and lots of good games. as well. It wouldn't make a league just a flat out TIE. til the finals. 2) it would make managers more active as a whole, it would mean more scouting 3) it would take out all the bots and inactives and put them on the lower end of d4.

Sure, some like the easy way to d3, but I wanted to have some fun in the meantime lol. The method for this reshuffling is pretty simple: move all created teams and bots on the lower spectrum of d4 (say IV56-IV64) and have the other 55 leagues filled with managers. This process would happen until all the lower end teams in the D4 world are in the back, and all the active teams are in the "front" as some would say. This would create much parity. Then, shuffle out all of the teams who won their relegation series, as well as the 3rd seed. This would be a possible total of 4-5 teams shuffled out of the respective conference each time this occurs guaranteed.

Makes more coding, yes, but I'm sure people can wait an extra day or 2 to see new leagues and schedules handed out. This would be a step in the right direction towards parity. (btw in d3 leagues the same method would happen too, just with less automatic bot take outs)
