Hi everyone,

yesterday I was surprisingly named NT of Scotland after Coach Diaz was removed for reasons I don't know.

Two victories are my goal in the European Qualifiers as I explained in my election speech. I think this would be a success if you look at the results of the last seasons which I put on the mainpage of the Scottish NT.


Game 1: Scotland - Germany 90 - 102

After overtaking the team I had nearly three hours to decide a strategy for the Qualifiers. I tried a CT hoping to surprise Germany. Unfortunately I predicted the German tactics wrong, so we lost the game in the last minutes after beeing close to Germany the whole game. I'm realy sad about this. Also the fact that the removed coach changed players after the reset of the enthusiasm was a big reason for the loss.


For the rest of the European Qualifiers I'm not able to change players because this would lead to a loss of enthusiasm. After that I would restructure the team. I will remove all players which are constantly in bad shape because of bad minutes while playing three games in a week. And I will put some younger guys to the teams. So if you have a Scottish player which earns 30000$ or more and is not a part of the NT then please contact me.

people posting here are understanding people, they seem to value a manager's effort more than mere results

yep, that's also my impression - and I've been following the forums since season 11 (when I started playing BB) ... and even though not many people write on the forums, I have the impression that a couple of them at least take notice what happens here ...

This is a pleasant surprise. I thought you were the best candidate from your speech and I like what you have done with the Scotland page. Two victories would be a good but even getting one will be a positive result for us.

Your ambition to crunch this game was probably the correct choice as the next 3 games would be near enough impossible to get anything out of anyway so enthusiasm can be recovered easily enough.

I'm not a scientific doctor in real life. It is more a German wordplay.

Game 2: Scotland - Serbia 95 - 145

I had to try a experiment against Serbia because the guards were in serious gameshape trouble. The starting lineup included only one guard hoping Serbia plays a inside offense. Unfortunately Serbia played Push The Ball, so they scored 145 points against our 2-3 zone defence. But Serbia (3rd in world ranking) is not our level at the moment.

I hope that our guards will be in better shape in the following weeks. Otherwise were are easy to predict and it would get hard to win a game.

Game 3: Scotland - Italy 75 - 124

Trying inside isolation lead to a offensive desaster scoring only 75 points, but Italy is like our last opponent Serbia and our next opponents Turkey and Slovenia on a higher level than our team.

Game 4: Scotland - Turkey 96 - 136

Maybe I'm the NT coach with the most wrong tactic predictions now, but without right predictions we don't have a chance against teams like Turkey. So the last losses look really bad, but I think winning one game and loosing the other games clearly is better then loosing all games tightly.

The only problem with guessing every game is that opponents expect you to guess and may change tactics because of this.

... especially if they're experienced managers. And quite a lot of the NTs are now playing Isolations in order to avoid right predictions ... but good luck anyway for the remaining season!

Game 5: Scotland - Slovenia 66 - 114

Another loss against a opponent on a higher level but we have still two chances.

PF Phil Hendry (27907335) is on the transfer list. The price is much to high but if he comes on the list against with a realistic price I would be really happy if he finds his way back to Scotland where he gets better shape hopefully.
