Why is it that I get the feeling that the people who "whine" all the time, as Marin calls them, that would like something to be done, are actually the ones who have any hope (as unrealistic as that may be) for the future?

If even you GM fellas are resigned to think that the current situation is actually an optimistic estimate of how the future can be, then maybe we should just all give up. :(

It's more that there's only so much that can be done - for inflation, for example, while free agency may make some small impact, it's not like there are enough users leaving the game with large amounts of players to prop up the market any significant amount. The types of changes that can affect that are either very slow to develop (train more players / create better "finished" players in the draft) or would radically change everything (speed up training / change training to be much more effective).

Realistically, a lot of the real "solutions" are things that would be great if the game were going to be rebooted, but don't make sense shoehorning into the game at this stage of its lifecycle, putting aside of course the question of resources. The best I can do is enjoy what's here the best I can, hope that things that can be changed will be, and accept the things that can't.

I have been playing for 16 or 17 seasons.
Last month I bought a player for 2.5M. Several seasons ago a similar player sold for 1.5M-2M. Last week I saw a similar player sold for 3.5M.
Guys, I'm pretty sure many of you, like me, browse the market daily, hoping to find a suitable player, only to find that the price tag is getting more and more absurd.
I have about 4-5 million in the bank and I have no idea how to spend the money in a way that will not ruin my team's future and will not mean that my long-time saving goes down the drain.
This game is fun in many aspects, but the economy stuff frustrates me, and even more to novel players actually.
